About Face Swap
Face Swap is a tool in Workroom that uses AI to replace a face in an image or video. It works with any file: those you upload, or those created within the platform in Picture Lab.
It automatically replaces the face with your chosen one, creating a separate copy with the new look.
How It Works
- Go to My Assets — This is where all your previously created or uploaded images and videos are located.
- Choose the file where you want to swap the face.
- This can be an image or video (up to 60 seconds).
- You can also upload a new file using the Upload button.
- Click Face Swap on the preview screen.
- Upload an image with the face you want to use — Use a clear, head-on photo, without shadows or distortion.
- Click Swap — The result will appear in a few seconds and be saved in My Assets as a new file.
Best Practices
- Use head-on portraits with even lighting and an unobstructed face — no glasses, hair, hands, or other coverings.
- On the original image, the face should be easily visible: neutral expression, without distortions or heavy filters.
- Face Swap works best on photos with a frontal angle, soft lighting, and a calm expression.
- The swap is more accurate when the original and target faces have similar head shapes and skin tones.
- Avoid makeup, accessories, and shadows — they interfere with accurate mapping.
- If the result “jumps” or looks unnatural — try a different photo, one that’s closer up and has a simpler composition.
- Don’t use Face Swap on videos with jerky movements, head turns, or jumping — this leads to artifacts.
Use Cases
- Face replacement for branded or personal avatars.
Quick appearance test — trying out different styles and looks. - Personalized videos — with the user’s face instead of a model.
- Creating deepfake content — clips, skits, humorous clips.
- A/B testing of covers —checking audience perception with different faces.
- Virtual character content — a “mask” for an AI avatar.
- Rebranding someone else’s video — changing the face while maintaining the style.
