Flickering Lamp at Foggy Gate

A tall iron school gate stands open at sunset in thick grey fog, its bars rusted to an ochre brown. One old street lamp beside the gate flickers, its rust-orange glow flaring on and off and lighting the fog in pulses. Behind the gate a long empty path leads into the distance, and far down it a single small figure in a dark coat stands completely motionless. The sky and low brick walls are a dark teal, the fog a pale grey. The only light source is the flickering lamp, everything else falls into shadow.
